Transforming Ministry, spring 2026. Review by Jane Slinger

This resource contains twelve session outlines for Messy Churches. Each begins with a Bible story and ends, appropriately after a busy day, with a time of ‘celebration’. The writers are all experienced in Messy Church and give suggestions and clear information on how to create activities and crafts, resulting in ways to promote discussion and stretch imagination. Included in each session are a choice of ten different activities, all aimed to help young people grow in Christ. There is truly a wealth of ideas here. Each session has a different theme and is very adaptable for a wide range of ages and abilities. I was particularly intrigued by the ‘Messy Church goes wild’ content. There are also pointers to further resources if needed. The celebration page at the end of each session contains suggestions for ways to present a round-up of the day’s activities, including a meal together, a prayer and a time to sing. Use this resource – it will equip you well to give young people the opportunity to discover Christ in their lives.
